2021 Zambia Mines Rescue Champions

On 17th September, Lubambe Copper Mine was named overall winner of the 2021 Zambia Mine Rescue Competition after beating five other participating teams in a tightly contested event held at Victoria Falls Power Station in   Livingstone.

Lubambe was announced BEST in 9 out of 11 categories, making the team the first in the history of the competition to walk away with so many awards at a single event.

Lubambe was named BEST in the following categories:

1.       Best Team – Rescue Operations

2.       Best Team – First Aid Operations

3.       Best Team - Firefighting

4.       Best Team – Theory Tests

5.       Best Team – Field Events

6.       Best Team – Relay Race with BG4

7.       Best Vice Captain (Idris Mwila) and

8.       Best Work Load Time (Francis Chama)

 

 

 

 

 

2019 CSR AWARD

Conferred on Lubambe on 29th November, 2019 by the Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zambia at the Inaugural Zambia National Responsible Business and CSR Awards.

The award is in recognition of Lubambe’s implementation of CSR initiatives that have impacted positively on communities living around the mine.

Lubambe’s CSR Initiatives are anchored on four pillars namely: Health, Education, Agriculture and Infrastructure.

BUSINESS LEADER IN CORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP - 2018

Conferred on Lubambe on 30th December, 2018 by the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI) for good environmental stewardship.

 

Lubambe received the award after fulfilling the criteria that considered among other factors environmental compliance, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
